Things YOU need to know before YOU go to Seoul in South Korea.
With a population of over 10 million people, Seoul is a buzzing metropolis where hi-tech meets street markets and buddhist temples. Seoul is twice as a dense as NYC. Seoul is bordered by 8 mountains, with the han river running through it. Seoul is considered to be the world’s most “wired” city — your cell phone will work everywhere here And yes — KPOP is everywhere, shops, tvs, stages… this city lives and breathes kpop.
Summer is hot, humid, and rainy. Monsoon season. Highs around 85F, lows rarely drop below 70. And hotels are expensive.
Winter is cold.. below freezing. Bring jackets. Seoul hosted the winter Olympics right? Cheapest time to visit. Avoid Lunar New Year.
Best time is April to May and September & November. Highs between 50 and 75F.
For shopping visit Myeong-Dong. At street stalls and subways you can bargain. Hongdae for latest trends — close to the university. COEX – Largest Underground Shopping Mall in Asia
